I'm coming back here and say I just found out that Y'golonac is actually NOT public domain and is in fact under some sort of copyright. One author nearly got ibro legal issues using Ygolonac and had to contact the author for permission. I'd edit him out of the list but unfortunately, I can't for some reason. The edit button is gone.

Honestly Holden is not that deep, at least with AM we get a semblance of a backstory. Holden is just one thing: Evil. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing deep about him with it. He's like a more serious and more mature rated Jack Horner.

I wanna say the same thing about Teknophage and Isaac Westcott. Those guys are a whole breed of evil in fiction, like Teknophage runs a "asylum" where humans are tortured psychologically in mass for sadistic curiosity, or how he'll remove their eyeballs, throw them in pools of magical acid where their souls are bound as robotic slaves forever.

I said before but I personally don't see Light all that complex. Dude is possibly one of the most straightforward examples of Delusional God Wannabes I've seen. The first episode alone dude immediately gained a god complex and made it clear he was no extremist. There was no character development or what not with that.

Light is not complex ngl.

He's the most straight foward "Delusional God Wannabe" villain you can get. Legit the very first thing he did at the beginning of Death Note is immediately becoming a not-so-well intentioned megalomaniac with a god complex. No character development, no slow transition from "Anti-Hero to full blown Complete Monster" or anything. He immediately became a egotistical supervillain and that's that.

Brainwashed into becoming a hero is a way too lenient of a punishment ngl. Like sure, they won't have agency and will be forced to do good for the rest of their lives... But at the same time they're not facing true justice you know? Like they're not in prison, they're not killed or suffering the same way the victims are suffering. Hell, it's not even remotely an atonement for obvious reasons, because they're not doing good willingly.

Idk that's like acquitting for their crimes and treating as if what they had done never happened because "oh that was the old them". Idk how to put it, but compared to the other options, that gotta be the most light punishment of the bunch.
