Pure Evil villains

Pure evil villains I Do Like Tragic villains but pure evil villains are more shocking and terrifying.

I like both, it’s great to have a villain that has a backstory/tragic events; but it also is great to have a villain who is just evil for the sake of being evil yk?

The problem with a lot of tragic villains in the current media (from my perspective) is that they’re written in a way that tries to gain not only the sympathy of the audience, but to also portray evil approaches as damn-near justifiable. Even if it’s not the case, many of the newer extremist villains who try to explain their evil away are getting cliche and even boring.
