That’s only because of a few brief hints at sadism shown somewhat earlier on in the story. Through the second half—particularly once he’s set on committing his “perfect suicide”—he doesn’t seem to be interested in much of anything any longer and has the same blank expression. I’m considering removing the category for that reason.

The smile he gives before Richard’s death is the only hint of sadism I ever saw in him.
